How to Run a Live Wedding Slideshow at Your Reception

Updated June 12, 2026

Put guest photos on the venue TV as they're taken — and schedule which galleries show during dinner, dancing, and the send-off. Setup takes five minutes.

Why a live slideshow changes the room

A photo slideshow built from last month's engagement shoot is nice. A slideshow where the photo someone took four minutes ago glides across the screen is a different thing entirely — guests point, laugh, and immediately take more photos to get on the board. It's the single best participation engine for a photo gallery, and it costs nothing: every venue has a TV.

The five-minute setup

  • Open your event's Slideshow page and copy the main slideshow link — one permanent URL for the whole event.
  • On the venue TV (or a laptop plugged into it), open that link in a browser and go fullscreen. That's it — new uploads join the rotation within seconds.
  • Choose which galleries are "always on." A private family-only album, for instance, stays off the big screen with one untick.

Scheduling: the part nobody else does

The same screen wants different content at 6 PM and 10 PM. With slideshow scheduling you can program the evening in advance:

  • Dinner (6–8 PM): ceremony gallery — guests relive the vows over their meal.
  • Dancing (8–10 PM): reception + selfie station — high-energy, instant feedback.
  • Send-off (10 PM+): back to everything, the whole day on shuffle.

Slots switch over automatically — no one touches the laptop mid-reception. When no slot is active, the slideshow simply plays all your visible galleries, so the screen is never blank.

Practical tips

  • Test the venue's Wi-Fi corner where the TV lives; a phone hotspot is a fine backup for a single slideshow stream.
  • Turn off the TV's screensaver and any auto-sleep.
  • Pair the screen with table-card QR codes — the slideshow is the why, the cards are the how.
